Booking Advice

Book Early for Summer

Split is extremely popular in July and August — good accommodation sells out months in advance. Book as early as possible for peak season, particularly if you want to stay inside the Old Town. For June or September, 4–6 weeks ahead is usually sufficient.

Book Direct When Possible

Many family apartments and smaller guesthouses offer better prices when you book directly rather than through platforms. Once you find a place you like, reach out via email or WhatsApp. Hosts appreciate it and you avoid the booking platform commission.

Consider Shoulder Season

May, early June and September offer almost all the benefits of summer — warm sea, sunshine, full ferry timetables — with noticeably fewer crowds and prices 20–40% lower than peak. Many locals consider September the very best month to visit Split.

Parking in Split

If you're arriving by car, check whether your accommodation includes parking — Split's city centre is heavily restricted and parking is very limited and expensive. Many visitors park on the outskirts (Kopilica or the ferry terminal car parks) and walk or take a bus into the centre.
